We have all experienced this feeling before…

The movie we are watching is just your average flick. Nothing new or special about it…until…BOOM! You just got hit with an amazing twist ending.

Here are my choices for the 10 greatest twist endings in motion picture history.

1. THE SIXTH SENSE- It’s the best because it packs the greatest punch. The audience thinks they’re just watching your run-of-the-mill spooky ghost story, with Bruce Willis helping a young boy who thinks he sees dead people. 2. SEVEN- A dark, edgy cop movie about a serial killer, that only gets better as it leads up to a gut-wrenching climax. You never see what is in the box, but that doesn’t matter. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey play the scene to perfection. The ending will stay with you forever. CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

3. THE USUAL SUSPECTS- Verbal Kent (Kevin Spacey) is a sad excuse for a criminal. He tells an unbelievable story to a police officer about a mythical crime lord, Keyser Soze, who is behind a hijacking. The cop doesn’t believe Kent and kicks his ass out of the police station. 4. PRIMAL FEAR- Here is a film that is “ok”, but has an ending that makes it memorable. Edward Norton’s first movie role and as we would learn over the next 15 years, he doesn’t disappoint. He plays a slow-witted altar boy, with multiple personalities, who is excused of a gruesome murder. CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

5. THE GAME- David Fincher (along with Christopher Nolan) has become the master of great twist endings. For the twist ending in The Game, you can’t do the “that can’t happen” routine. Just know that Michael Douglas is put through hell just to get to the climax. It’s a game, right? CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

6. FIGHT CLUB- Another Fincher twist (he did Seven and The Game) that gives us two very close buddies. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are as close as can be. Who is Tyler Durden? The twist comes about 20 minutes before the end, but it still is a whopper of a twist. CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

7. SHATTERED- Here is a movie that you may have never heard of before. It’s the kind of movie you might find at 2 am on cable. A man in a car wreck with his wife, sustains major facial injuries and loss of memory. As he recovers, he begins to find discrepancies in the description of his former life by his wife, his business partner, and his partner’s wife. CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

8. THE PRESTIGE- Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale play dueling magicians during the turn of the century. Constantly trying to out-do each other, they end up ruining their lives. Director Christopher Nolan is no stranger to ending his movies with a shocking or confusing twist (Memento, Inception), but this is his best ending out of them all. CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST

9. SOYLENT GREEN- Old classic with Charlton Heston that might seem a bit outdated now. The ending reminds us to be careful of what we eat. Soylent Green is made out of … CLICK HERE FOR THE TWIST
