“Footloose” Los Angeles Premiere – Red Carpet: 10/03/2011 – Regency Village Theatre
When I heard there was going to be a Footloose remake, I about died. Footloose is a classic that shouldn’t be touched. Period. The movie was doomed from the start and went through a few male lead roles (including Zac Efron and Chace Crawford) that eventually landed newcomer Kenny Wormald the gig of Kevin Bacon’s legendary role as Ren McCormack.
Even though not everyone was please that Kenny would never be able to live up to Bacon’s booty shaking, Kenny was delighted to have a lead (alongside Julianne Hough.)
He explained, “When those guys were attached, I was jealous. I was like, ‘Oh, I could do Ren justice. Give me a chance. And then when I heard that they opened casting to an ‘unknown,’ I was so pumped and I just beelined it toward the prize.”
Whether we like it or not, the modern version of Footloose will hit theaters October 14th. Check out the red carpet photos from the premiere that went down in Westwood, CA last night.
