“The Rum Diary” New York Premiere – Inside Arrivals
[nggallery id=8]
The New York premiere of “The Rum Diary” took place on October 25th, 2011 and was hosted by Playboy. What a fabulous host for such a fabulous group of people, right? At any rate, there is a story behind Playboy and the writer of the novel of which the movie was based off of. But I’ll get to that later.
Yes Johnny wore his signature shades and a hat and he met up with co-star Amber Heard (isn’t she amazingly gorgeous?) on the red carpet. The event was held at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art.
SIDE NOTE: Playboy had a pretty solid relationship with Hunter S. Thompson, the writer of The Rum Diaries, and did a profile on the guy and published several of his pieces, including “Scar Strangled Banner,” (May 1988) and “Fear and Justice in the Kingdom of Sex” (January 2004). Yeah, Mr. Thompson was that kind of guy, but brilliant indeed.
It was the second premiere this month for The Rum Diary.
The film hits theaters this Friday, Oct. 28.
