Christian Bale recently said the upcoming Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises”, will be the last time audiences see him wearing the Batsuit.

None of this comes as a surprise, since he & director Christopher Nolan always intended to do a trilogy and then both walk away.

Bale told an interviewer from the Philippine Daily Inquirer that he had wrapped The Dark Knight Rises a few days earlier, “so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl off,” MTV.com reported today.

“Everything’s finished. It’s me and [director Christopher Nolan] – that will be the end of that Batman era,” he said.

Nolan told the Los Angeles Times in March of last year that The Dark Knight Rises would be his final Batman film after 2005′s Batman Begins and 2008′s The Dark Knight.

I wonder how they will end the film/series and how much of a stamp they will leave on the Batman legacy.
