It appears that a new Oscar contender has arrived.
Hitchcock, which was originally scheduled for release sometime in 2013, will hit theaters on November 23rd. The producers feel that Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of the legendary director could end up being nominated for an Academy Award.
Formerly known as “Alfred Hitchock And The Making Of Psycho,” this biographical feature presents a behind-the-scenes look at the film, which was marred with controversy due to complaints about violence, nudity and other sexual content and claims that a body double was used in Janet Leigh’s place during the shower murder scene.
Scarlett Johansson is playing Janet Leigh, while Helen Mirren is taking on the role of Alfred Hitchcock’s wife, Alma.
