You can keep It’s A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Miracle On 34th Street and all the rest. What about the movies that take place during Christmas, but aren’t really considered to be Christmas flicks?
I’ve come up with five movies that have every right (even if its subtle) to be in the Christmas genre.
DIE HARD
DIE HARD 2
John McClane is just like St. Nick, if Nick battled terrorists every Christmas day. First it was a Christmas shootout atop an L.A. skyscraper, then it was a couple of December 25th’s later when the wiseguy cop was stopping the bad guys at Dulles International Airport in D.C.
ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE
It’s rare we see 007 celebrate anything, let alone Christmas. It’s certainly not a movie you think of when it comes to the holidays, but watch it again and you will see it’s as close to “A James Bond Christmas Special” as you will ever get.
As a little bonus, lets not forget Bond banged a girl named “Christmas”.
GREMLINS
Lose the elves, add some of these green critters!
REINDEER GAMES
Not just a forgotten Christmas movie, but a completely forgotten movie overall!
What are some other obscure “Christmas” films?
