Vincent Chase was a huge movie star on a TV show. So why can’t this TV character go to the movies?
Warner Bros. has announced that it is moving forward with an Entourage movie. The film will be written and directed by series creator Doug Ellin. WB expects the show’s core cast, which includes Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven, to all return. There is even speculation that the movie will include “a swarm of real Hollywood talent, playing themselves” in cameos.
Entourage ran on HBO for eight seasons, from 2004-11. It was nominated for 25 Primetime Emmy Awards and 14 Golden Globes over the course of its run. Executive Producer Mark Wahlberg has hinted that a bulk of the movie could find Vince’s crew on location in Europe.
Remember that HBO’s Sex In The City went on to have two very profitable movies. Entourage is the male version of Sex In The City. As Ari used to say…”BOOM!”
